The Roller Derby Chronicles serves as a wonderful nostalgic trip to the 70's as well as providing insight into the action of a tremendous sport. With two full-length documentary-type movies, one can see the historical backdrop of roller derby. Watching and hearing the great Charlie O'Connell reflect on his beginnings and future in roller derby are worth the price of this set alone. The remainder of the set has classic roller derby action in black/white and color and even includes the Sports Illustrated article on roller derby by Frank Deford, an excellent writer whose insight is well worth reading. All in all, this three-disc set is a delight from start to finish. Any lover of roller derby will want this set.
